Robert Barclay Allardyce, 88, of Schenectady, NY, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 19, 2025. Robert was born on March 27, 1937 in Rahway, New Jersey, and grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Donald and Margaret (Middleditch) Allardyce, his brother Donald Allardyce and his sons Bruce and Charles Allardyce. He is survived by his brother Fred, son Aaron (Jeanne) and his three grandchildren, Graham, Lachlan, and Evangeline. Robert was a graduate of Yale University and served three years in the United States Army.
Robert retired from his career as a computer systems manager for the State of New York and has spent the last 30 years collecting and restoring classic cars and devoting time to being a mentor and advisor in community groups close to his heart.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at Bond Funeral Home on Sunday, June 1. Visitation hours will be held from 2-3 p.m., with a prayer service at 3 p.m.
