Robert Wylie Allen, 75, of Athens went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2025.
Robert was a Veteran of the United States Air Force where he served in Vietnam. During his time in the Air Force, he became a Staff Sergeant and was a plane mechanic. Later, he went to locomotive school where he got his engineering degree in 1980. He was extremely proud of his locomotive engineering work. He retired after 30 years. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed being outdoors. Robert never met a stranger and loved to make everyone laugh. You could call him, "the life of the party!". He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by his father, James Allen; mother, Exie McBride; and sister, Gayle Feltman.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirley Allen; two daughters, Kimberly Perkins (Jeremy) and Kelsey Key (Matthew); sons, Keith Allen (Tonya) and Kyle Chaney. Six grandchildren, Korbin, Kale, Bentley, Addison, Wylee, and J.R.; and many other loved family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 at 5:00pm at Companion Funeral Home of Athens, TN. A Visitation will be held prior from 3:00pm - 5:00pm.
