Robert G Allen Jr

Our hearts are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and
Friend, Robert G. Allen, Jr. on September 22, 2025.
Robert was born on August 21, 1963 to Mary E. Allen and the late Robert G. Allen, Sr. He attended the New
York City School system, where he graduated from Kennedy High School and later went on the receive an
Associate Degree from Monroe College.
On August 21, 1991, Robert was united in Holy Matrimony with the love of his life, Michelle Mosley-Allen.
To this union, two sons were born, Xavier and Darius; their bond was one of deep love. Together, they
created a home filled with joy.
Robert had worked several jobs throughout his lifetime, but the one job he cherished the most, was his
employment at the New York City Transit Authority, for over 36 years. He was always available to lend a
helping hand or give advice to his co-workers when needed. Though he looked forward to retiring at the
end of this year, God had already prepared a greater rest for him.
Robert's passion, was the love of all sports. He loved watching basketball and football with his sons and
enjoying long phone conversations with his brother-in-law about the games. The New York Knicks was his
favorite since childhood; he never gave up on them, and he was still waiting for a championship. He also
had a profound love for listening to, as he would say, "Oldies, but Goodies"; like Curtis Mayfield and Marvin
Gaye. He would say, "they don't make them like that anymore". He was quite the clown at times, and
made everyone laugh. He was the life of the family gatherings, along with his late sister, Sheila Harris. As
he would say, "the party doesn't get started until me and Sheila arrive". He can now join her and continue
that partying in heaven.
Robert had such a kind, loving and caring spirit. He loved helping others and giving advice when needed,
even if you didn't ask for it. He was straight forward and always said, "when you greet someone, always
give a firm handshake and look them straight in the eyes; that's how he raised his sons as well. He often
said, "I have no regrets because I have loved and cared for everyone"
Robert leaves behind a legacy of memories with his wife, Michelle Allen, Sons, Xavier and Darius Allen;
Mother, Mary E. Allen, Sister, Beverly Allen-Jackson, Niece, Lindsay Harris; Nephew, Vaughn Jackson; a
Great Nephew, Christan Harris Cuffari; Mother-in-law, Vertelle Robinson; Sister-in-law Joyce Guinyard;
Brother-in-law, Leland Mosley, Jr.; Goddaughter, Brandi Sinclair; and a host of other Family and Friends.
