Robert C. Amedee (Bob) was born March 26, 1938 and passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024 in the arms of his daughters. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Glass Amedee, of whom he would say, “how do you not miss someone who is half of you,” his parents Clifton and Ruth Amedee, brother and sister-in-law Dick and Ethel Amedee, and sister Ruth Ann Meador. He is survived by his daughters Robin Lansing, husband Bobby, and Kelli Stafford, husband Todd, grandchildren Laurin Potts, husband Micah, Allison Underwood, husband Taylor, Tre’ Lansing, wife Alex, Emily Lansing, Blake Lansing, Sam Stafford, and Alexis Stafford, five great-grandchildren Lula, Sutton, Case, Lark and Kolson Potts, a brother-in-law Austin Meador, sister-in-law Alice Glass and many nieces and nephews.
Bob retired from millworks, and he was a master carpenter. From building houses, cabinetry, restoration of old buildings at LSU, the old Louisiana State Capitol, windows at the United Methodist Church to heirloom furniture for his family. He crafted by hand with love and detail. However, his best creation was his family. While he didn’t always say much, he relished time with his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren spent in his garden, especially the blackberry bushes. He was a simple man with a kind soul, who will be dearly missed.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the hospice, nursing, and aid staff of Grace Health and Rehab Center. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude’s and the Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
Pallbearers: Tre’ Lansing, Blake Lansing, Sam Stafford, Micah Potts, Taylor Underwood, Earl Wayne Magee, and Jerry Duke.
