Robert Charles "Bob" Appleman

Robert Charles "Bob" Appleman, age 88, of Laurel, Maryland, passed away on March 1, 2025, after a long battle with dementia.
Bob was born on December 9, 1936 to George and Elizabeth Appleman in Chicago, Illinois. After Bob graduated from Beall High School in Frostburg, Maryland, in 1954, he went on to earn Master's Degrees in both Mathematics and Physics at Bucknell University. He worked as a college professor for a few years, but most of his career was spent in service to government (contractor) as a Systems Engineer.
In 1951, Bob met Dorothy Anne "Dot" Elrick at Beall High School. Bob and Dot married in 1959 and went on to have three children, Christopher ("Chris"), Miriam ("Mimi"), and Stephanie.
In 2006, Bob retired and spent his time playing with his dogs, online gaming, amateur car racing, and investing.
Bob was predeceased by his mother, father, wife, and daughter Stephanie. He is survived by his brother Charles ("Chuck"), son Chris, daughter Mimi, granddaughters Mary, Madeleine, and Morgan, great-grandson Yabi, and great-granddaughter Haya.
A memorial service will be held privately with family.
