Robert "Bob" Arduser, 90, of Monticello, died Sunday, June 2, 2024, at St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids
Private family services will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello with Military Honors by the United States Navy. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Robert and his family into their care. Memorials may be made to Peace United Church of Christ.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Lori (Ignacio) Mendieta, Keri Paulsen, Kris (Dr. Michael) Riley, his grandchildren, Robert, Mitchell, Morgan (Michael) Hudson, and Dylan (Larissa) Mendieta, Jeremy (Kara), Jason (Jauna), Jade (Fiancé Nick) Paulsen, Sara (Jon) Larson, Kaci (Matt) Simon, Taryn (Tanner) Fellinger, 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jan, a son-in-law, Richmond Kromminga and his sister, Arlene Bader.
Robert Duane Arduser was born September 15, 1933, at Langworthy, Iowa to Clifford and Mildred Taylor, Arduser. He attended Langworthy #2 rural school and graduated from the Monticello Community School in 1951. Bob went on to attend an automotive repairs institute in Chicago. He then worked at Rapids Chevrolet in Cedar Rapids. Bob met a young lady Janice Lamp that had moved to Monticello to teach 1st grade. Jan and Bob were married on December 23, 1955, at the Peace Church in Monticello. Bob was drafted into the United States Navy. The couple moved to California while Bob served in the Navy. After completing his military service Bob returned to Monticello to operate his own business Arduser Body Shop. He started his long career in Insurance when he took a job with Allied Insurance Company as an insurance adjuster. The company later became Nationwide. He retired from the insurance business in 1991.
Bob was a member of the Burns Masonic Lodge, the Monticello Fire Department and Peace United Church of Christ. Bob enjoyed his morning coffee group at Stephen Motors, Friday night dinners and breakfast on the weekends with friends. He loved to winter in Arizona. He most enjoyed going to his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's events and activities.
