Robert M. Ashcroft

Robert "Bob" Mark Ashcroft, age 91, passed away peacefully on February 21st, 2026.Bob was born on June 30th, 1934 in Evanston, Illinois to Lawerence and Virginia Ashcroft. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Bob had an extensive football career as an offensive lineman starting at Evanston High School, advancing to Western State College of Colorado, and eventually playing on the Army football team.

He married Arlene Nelsen in 1964, and together they shared years of love and cherished memories with their two daughters, Susan and Sandy. As a family, they enjoyed vacationing at Thunderbird Ranch, hosting family parties, and attending Chicago Cubs Spring Training with friends.

Bob dedicated over 30 years to DoAll as an accountant, remaining with the company until his retirement in 2001. He was widely respected for his loyalty and integrity.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene. He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Rob) Cole and Sandy Ashcroft; and his granddaughters, Jackie and Ashley Cole.

He found joy in life's simple pleasures, including cheering on the Chicago sports teams and spending time with family, friends and especially, his granddaughters. Those who knew Bob will remember his contagious laugh, kindness, and sense of humor.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 25, from 4 p.m until time of funeral servie 7 p.m. at The N.H. Scott Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd. Glenview. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers https://t2t.org/donate/
