Robert Aungst Obituary
Robert L. Aungst, Sr., 81, of Lock Haven, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.
Born May 27, 1943 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of the late Harry F. And Mary E. Laubscher Aungst.
Bob was a 1961 graduate of Jersey Shore High School and was employed at various jobs before working for the City of Lock Haven as a Parking Meter Enforcement Officer until his retirement after many years of service.
On September 26, 1998, at the Farrandsville United Methodist Church, he married the former Gale Toner, who survives.
Bob was a loyal member of the Masonic Lafayette Lodge #232 of Jersey Shore, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Susquehanna Forrest #199, where he served as past Grand Tall Cedar, and the Zafar Grotto of South Williamsport, where he served as past Monarch.
He was proud of his commitment to the Clinton County Camp Cadet program, where he was very active for over 20 years and was a past member of the Jersey Shore Elks Lodge.
Bob enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. He was also an avid sports fan, especially of football and wrestling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ronald L. (Michelle) Aungst and Robert Aungst, Jr.; two daughters, Tammy Simmons Aungst and Misty (Ronald) Myers; a step-son, William (Candy Jo) Laubscher; a sister, Bonnie Jean Knarr; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by five siblings: Richard and Ralph Aungst, Carol Webner, Evelyn Shoemaker and Betty Hecker.
A Memorial Service with Masonic Lodge Honors will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 4 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with Pastor Brian M. Moyer officiating.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 P.M. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Tall Cedars Foundation to be used to support those with neuromuscular diseases.
