It is with sad hearts that the cherished family of Robert (Bob) W. Austra, 88, of E. Stroudsburg, PA marks his passing on December 6, 2025. Robert leaves behind Adelaide W. Grace who has been by his side for thirty-three years, his five children, Nancy E. Ashbrooke Maresca (Mark) of Baldwin, NY, Karen Astromsky (Lou Rohman) of Edina, MN, Robert Astromsky of Margaret River, Australia, Rosemary Pepper (Nick Tangborn) of Austin, TX, and J.J. Astromsky of Tannersville, PA, five grandchildren: Lilia Mannes, Natalie Mannes, John McArthur, Violet Beaudot and Audrey Beaudot, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Anne (Nancy)Astromsky.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, William and Lottie (Bogden) Astromsky, a brother William, and two sisters, Jean Madl and Evelyn Kline.

Born in Shenandoah, PA on August 26, 1937, Robert grew up in the Philadelphia area where he received his primary, secondary, and college educations. A graduate of North Catholic High School and Temple University, Bob built upon his CPA skills to work as an executive with Narco/Pilling, Johnson & Johnson, and in venture capital. His entrepreneurial spirit led him back to PA where he embarked upon new careers as a financial advisor/broker, a blackjack/poker dealer, and, dear to his heart in his less active years, a licensed agent providing Medicare plans for senior citizens.

Bob was known to many as "that tall guy" at his favorite home golf course, Great Bear Golf and Country Club where he was a senior champion. Often found on the driving range when he wasn't on the course, Bob enjoyed walking all 18 holes well into his late 70's and only reluctantly gave in to using a golf cart.

Cremation was entrusted to William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, Pa 18360. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Gregory A. Reichlen at The Church of St. John, 5171 Milford Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18302 on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life in his honor will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Worthington Ballroom at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, 100 Shawnee Inn Drive, Shawnee on Delaware, PA 18356.
