Robert M. Avedisian

HOLDEN - Robert M. Avedisian, 81, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, after a courageous battle with illness. Born and raised in Northbridge, Bob was the beloved son of Michael and Janet Y. (Marmovitch) Avedisian and had been a resident of Holden for the past 44 years.
Bob attended Northbridge High School and spent 20 years working for General Motors as a dedicated member of the United Auto Workers Union. In the final 15 years of his career, he worked in the maintenance department at Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, where he was appreciated for his hard work and strong work ethic.
A devout member of St. Mary's Church in Jefferson, Bob was also a lifelong member of the Nimrod League of Holden, where he enjoyed trap shooting. A man of many interests, Bob had a passion for vintage cars and was known for his deep knowledge of World War II history. His favorite pastime was meticulously caring for his yard, a place where his attention to detail truly shined. He also enjoyed figure skating and was once a proud member of the FMC Ice Sports Club in Worcester. In quieter moments, he loved settling in to watch a classic western movie.
He was a devoted family man who always placed his loved ones at the heart of everything he did. Bob's unwavering commitment to his family was evident in the care and attention he gave to each of them, ensuring their happiness and well-being were always a priority.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda J. (Wisniewski) Avedisian; his two children, John M. Avedisian and Joyce H. Avedisian, both of Holden; and his sister, Sharon Maginnis, and her husband, Robert, of Milton. He is also fondly remembered by his nephews, nieces, and extended family. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sister, Eileen Renault.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bob's family from 9:30 to 11:00 am on Monday, September 9, at St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob's name to St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson 01522.
