Helene Lori (Crittenden) Avedisian, a vibrant spirit who filled every room with laughter and love, passed away on October 17, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 11, 1959, to the late Roy and Margaret Crittenden, she was the youngest of six in the infamously known Crittenden girls.
Helene's adventurous spirit took her from the bustling streets of New York City to the stunning shores and mountains of California, ultimately leading her to Florida, where she reunited with her high school sweetheart, Paul Avedisian. Together, they built a cherished life in their "house in the woods," a testament to their love and partnership.
A talented individual with a passion for storytelling, Helene found immense joy as a tour guide in St. Augustine, where she created lasting memories for many fifth-grade travelers. Her infectious laughter and unparalleled zest for life touched the hearts of everyone she met. A beautiful writer, she shared her adventures and thoughts candidly, making friends and strangers alike feel welcomed and valued.
Helene is survived by her soulmate, Paul Avedisian; her beloved daughters, Brittney Walden (Brian) and Ashton Avedisian-Danielson; her three adored grandchildren, Abel Danielson, Wylder Walden, and Walker Walden, who were her pride and joy; her sisters, Cindy Bates (Chuck), Lois Shelley (Dennis), Marge Crittenden, Jan Avery (James), and Sue Keer (Nazar).
In her memory, the family encourages donations to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. They extend heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Mayo Clinic and beyond who supported Helene throughout her journey.
In accordance with her wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service. Instead, a celebration of her life will take place on November 16, 2024, at 11 a.m. For details on the location, please visit the link listed below. https://pp.events/a8RZ3z7e
As Helene would remind us: live life to the fullest, and always remember to laugh, laugh, and laugh some more.
