Robert N. "Bob" Ayoob, 81, of Bridgeport, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 24, 2024, in Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born in Clarksburg on July 17, 1943, a son of the late Thomas Joseph and Rose Elizabeth (Habeb) Ayoob.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadette (Rodriguez) Ayoob, whom he married May 22, 1971.
Also surviving are his son, Dr. Andres Ayoob and his wife Shelley of Lexington, KY; his daughter, Dr. Rose Mary Ayoob and her wife Patricia Rogers of Teays Valley, WV; two grandchildren, Jack and Luke Ayoob; his nephew, Brian Ayoob and his wife Kelly of Bridgeport; and his niece Stephanie Davis and her husband Michael of Bridgeport; his special friend of over 50 years, Tony Karakiozis; and many other cousins and friends he cared about deeply.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Lee Ayoob and his wife Judy.
Bob was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, and retired from Eagle Convex after 30 years of service.
He loved gardening and going to breakfast with his buddies. He also looked forward to sitting on his back porch smoking a cigar with his neighbors. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob's memory are requested to All Saints Catholic Church Building Fund, 317 E. Main Street, Bridgeport, WV 26330.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 2 – 8 p.m., where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church on Saturday, September 28, 2024, with Father Walt Jagela as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
