Robert Eric Backes, of Central Point, Oregon, passed away at home on November 4, 2025. Born on October 22, 1963, he lived a life rooted in the outdoors, family, and the simple joys that meant the most to him.
He is survived by his sisters, Walena and Sandy; his sons, Bo and William; and his cherished grandchildren, Delilah and Dalton. His family was his proudest accomplishment and the center of his world.
A true outdoorsman, he found his happiest moments hunting, fishing, and spending time surrounded by nature. He was stubborn in the way only strong-hearted people can be, yet generous, loyal, and kind to those he loved. His friends and family knew him as someone who would show up, lend a hand, share a laugh, and make any day better just by being part of it.
He will be deeply missed, remembered for his big heart, his love for his sons, and the peace he found under open skies.
May he rest in the quiet he always loved.
