Obituary
Robert "David" Baker, age 64, of Hendersonville, Tennessee peacefully, ascended into heaven on Saturday March 18, 2023.
David was born to the late (Ret. Navy) Chief Master Sergeant William Jennings Baker and Barbara Celestine Marion Baker on April 18, 1958 in Waukegan, Illinois at Great Lakes Naval Station.
He graduated with the class of 1976 at Hendersonville High. After graduating he joined the United States Navy where he learned his trade as an electrical lineman. He was awarded the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 3 stars, expert M-16 Rifle Coach, and the Humanitarian Service Medal. He was a proud SeaBee until his death.
After being honorably discharged in 1983, David worked at Gallatin Electric Service, Nashville Electric Service, and eventually obtained his Tennessee General Contractors License in 2004 and became a founding member of Allstar Construction. In 2019, David made Allstar a multi-generational company by making his son Ricky a partner.
David was an American Patriot. He loved the Lord, his family, the Vols (GBO), Braves baseball, hanging at Hooperville but his greatest love was duck hunting with his dear friends, son Josh, and grandson Jackson, and his beloved Sailorboy.
David is survived by his best friend and wife, Christy E. (Johnson) Baker; loving sons, Joshua "Josh" Davison Baker (Titania), Matthew "Matt" Jennings Baker (Ashley), Richard "Ricky" E. Williams, Jr., Christopher "Chris" James Williams, and Matthew Jackson Williams; and sister, Donna Baker Wacaser (Buddy). He was Big Daddy to five beautiful grandchildren, Jackson David Baker (18), Vayda Jane Baker (12), Levi "Bebi" Jennings Baker (10), Peyton Olivia Deraney (6), and Ezra Matthew Baker (5). He is also survived by his beloved niece, Jennie Lou from Kalamazoo; nephew, Scott Wofford; great-nieces, Lizzie, Rebekah, and Mollee; great-nephew, Will; great-great precious niece, Ella Baker; his beautiful Aunt Becky; and many loved cousins. Last but not least, the best tribe of friends that are family, a man could pray to have in his life. An extra special thanks to Destiny and Alive Hospice.
A visitation for David will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Thursday, March 23, 2023 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Directly following the funeral, the family invites you to David's Celebration of Life at Hooperville 314 Allen Road Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
