Robert Rowland Barrera, 71, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2026.
Robert was born on December 28, 1954, in Taylor to Paul Barrera and Ophelia Rowland. He was a man who deeply cherished his family and made it a priority to call and check on his loved ones often. Robert found joy in listening to music, painting, and spending time browsing Hobby Lobby and thrift stores throughout the metroplex. He was an avid sports fan whose favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed watching college football and boxing on television. Robert proudly served his country as a United States Marine, a role he carried with honor throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ophelia; his brother, Michael; his uncle, Joe; his cousins, Ricky and Alice; and his grandmothers, Prajedes and Seferina. May they rest in peace.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his children Amanda Sanchez Liyansuria and Ray of New Mexico; Michelle Sanchez Eberendu and Lex of Lewisville; and Paul Sanchez Barrera and Chelly of Fort Worth. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Ashley, Cristina, Michael, Clarissa, Paul Jacob, Isabella, Isaiah, Lexi, Juan, and Viviana; and his great-grandchildren, Dean and Spencer.Robert is survived by his siblings: Norma and her husband Ruben; Tony; Nelda and her husband Donald; Lupe and her husband Gilbert; along with many extended family members and dear friends. Robert will be remembered for his loving heart, his devotion to family, and the simple joys that brought him happiness. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
