Robert G. Bartel

Robert G. Bartel, age 84, of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on January 7, 1942 in New London, WI, the son of the late Grant and Elvira (Behm) Bartel. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield and continued as a life-long member serving in many capacities throughout the church including Chairman, Elder and Custodian.

On April 25, 1964, Bob married Priscilla Pribbernow at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Zittau. Bob worked as a shipper for Miller Electric for 28 years before retiring in 2001. Bob was currently president of the East Bloomfield Cemetery Association where he spent over 25 years overseeing the operations of the cemetery from his home across the street. Bob also enjoyed golfing, doing word search puzzles, tending to his mini-farm at his home and mowing the grass. He had a wonderful sense of humor and his inside jokes will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Priscilla "Percy"; two daughters, Shelley Riehl, Greenville and Shawna (Rob) Andolsek, Viroqua; six grandchildren, Natasha Riehl, Morgan(Fiance', Tachelle), Seth(Fiance' Hannah)Riehl, Brooklyn (Special friend, Fino) Riehl, Kendal and Kolbie Andolsek; his sister, Judy (Larry) Faulks; and their daughters Jennifer(Matt)Sanger and Farrah (Dave)Wolfe; his brother-in-law, Fred (Diann) Pribbernow; and their daughter, Kelly(Kyle) Heaton; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in law's, Frederick and Irma Pribbernow, and his brother-in-law, Arlen Pribbernow.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church, 8580 37th Ave., Fremont. Pastor Paul Mose and Pastor Paul Fritz will officiate. Visitation will be held at St. John Lutheran Church on Monday, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Burial will be in East Bloomfield Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for St. John Lutheran Church and Fox Valley Lutheran High School. The Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bob's family would like to thank West Bloomfield Fire Department and First Responders and Poy Sippi EMS for their fast response and care. They are also appreciative of friends Debbie, Lois and Sherry for staying with Percy while waiting for family to arrive.
