Barbara J. Bartel

Barbara J. Bartel, age 86, of Neenah, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 9, 2026, at her home in Neenah. She was born on September 2, 1939 in Fremont, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late William and Marion(Brooks) Kiekhafer.

On June 26, 1965, Barbara married LeRoy Bartel in Fremont. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2023.

Barbara worked for Associated Bank in Neenah for over 20 years before retiring. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha, where she enjoyed volunteering her time making quilts for the homeless. She also loved traveling, gambling, reading, knitting and sewing. Barb was very social and she enjoyed spending time having lunch dates with her many friends.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Connie (Allen) Ihde, Greenville, and her son, Mike Bartel, Neenah. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy, her brother Robert "Butch" Kiekhafer, her sister, Kathleen(Bennie)Anderson; her sister-in-law, Joyce(Virgil)Paap and her brother-in-law, Vilas(Sandra)Bartel.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 12:00 pm at Lewin Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Fremont. Pastor Steve Billings will officiate. Visitation will be held at Lewin Funeral Home on Saturday, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Inurnment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Fremont. The Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont is assisting the family with arrangements.
