Robert J. Bashore

Robert J. Bashore, 97, passed away on December 22, 2025, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon, PA. Robert was born on August 12, 1928 in Bethel, PA, to David and Minerva Bashore. After high school, Robert proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. He then started his long career as a truck driver for Roadway Express. After retiring, Robert worked for Dunbar Armored as a truck driver in Pennsylvania and Florida. Robert is survived by wife Mildred R. Bashore; daughter Colleen; stepsons Randy (Charlene) Ziegler and Richard (Stephanie) Ziegler; grandson Jason (Jennifer) Ziegler; great-grandson Gannon Ziegler; daughter-in-law Mary Lou Ziegler; and sister-in-law Faydeen Gerhart and nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his siblings: David Bashore, Henry Bashore, Paul Bashore, George Bashore, and Edith Kreiser. The service for Mr. Robert Bashore will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Christman's Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., with a viewing preceding at 10:30 AM. A graveside service will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in Robert's name to American Legion Post 915, PO Box 222, Fredericksburg, PA 17026.
