Robert Wilson “Bobby” Bell of Madison Heights, Virginia entered his eternal home in glory on Monday, September 1, 2025. He was the son of the late Herbert Athey Bell and Lucy Vernaville Hungate Bell. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Herbert A. Bell, Jr., and his sister, Shirley J. Bell.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Shirley Frady Bell; his sister-in-law, Mary F. Garrett; and several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
A proud veteran, Bobby honorably served his country in Korea with the United States Army. Following his service, he pursued a career in banking — a perfect fit for his friendly nature and love of meeting people.
Bobby was a devoted member of Madison Heights Baptist Church, faithfully serving in various capacities throughout the years. He especially loved music, singing joyfully with the church choir for more than 60 years.
A visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m., followed by a service at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Madison Heights Baptist Church, with Minister Josh Beeler officiating. A burial service will take place on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Briarwood Memorial Gardens, 1823 South Amherst Highway.
The family wishes to sincerely thank all of the Godly neighbors, friends and church members for their love, care and prayers. You all are a treasure and a blessing to us all.
