Robert E. "Bob" Bendig

Robert E. "Bob" Bendig, age 86, of Tionesta, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, died on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Meadville Medical Center. He was born December 12, 1936 in Pittsburgh, son of the late Andrew E. and Sophia (Stefanski) Bendig.
On March 18, 1978 he married Sharon A. (Winklmann) Bendig who died September 1, 2020. The couple married in Pittsburgh.
Bob was a carpet installer by trade and owned A&B Carpet Co. in Pittsburgh. After retiring and moving to Tionesta he worked for Allegheny Collectibles Card Company in Tionesta, then as a driver for Muccio's Transportation who provided transportation for the Forest Area School District. He was raised Catholic. He loved to hunting and fish, more recently he enjoyed to work on puzzle books/search words books.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa A. Kirsch of Prospect, PA. Three sons, William R. Bendig (Sandy); Timothy A. Bendig (James); Andrew W. Bendig (Lisa), all of Pittsburgh. There are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife Sharon, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Robert E. Bendig Jr.
There will be no public visitation. All services held will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
