Robert A. Bendull

Robert A. Bendull, age 73, of Grayslake, IL, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026 at his home after a brief illness.

Robert was born May 14, 1952, in Waukegan, IL to John and Dorothy (nee: Fortner) Bendull.  He was educated in the Round Lake and Lake Villa schools and was a graduate of Antioch High School.  Robert "Bob" married Joleen (nee: Miley) on February 15, 1975 in Fulton, IL.  Bob enjoyed yearly fishing trips with friends near the boundary waters in northern Minnesota.  He was also involved in youth bowling, baseball, and church Pioneer programs.  Throughout his career, he had been a kitchen and bath cabinet designer and salesman, and was employed by several companies within the building industry.  He retired in 2014.

Bob was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Round Lake.  He was a former member of Heritage Lutheran Church in Lindenhurst and served on various committees.  A memorial to St. Paul Lutheran Church has been established.  

Survivors include his wife Joleen; two sons Thomas (Carrie Stretcher) Bendull of Gurnee, IL and Matthew Bendull of Grayslake, IL, one granddaughter Amelia Bendull, one brother David Bendull of Elkhorn, WI, one sister Janet (Bill) Maricle of Burlington, WI, brother-in-law Steve (Sally) Miley of Rock Falls, IL, sister-in-law Brenda (Anders) Skylling of Grayslake, IL, sister-in-law Linda Miley of Fulton, MO, several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation and funeral service are scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 10:00am until 12:00pm with the service commencing at 12:00pm with Rev.
