Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium LtdRobert D. Evensen, age 60, of Grayslake, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on February 5, 2026.
Robb was born on April 28, 1965, in Ripon, Wisconsin, to Robert N. and Sharon A. (Stoer) Evensen. He grew up in Ripon and graduated from Ripon High School in 1983. He received his bachelor’s degree from Concordia College in Mequon, Wisconsin, in 1987.
Robb and Christine Evensen were married on August 2, 2002. Together they made their home in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and later in Grayslake, Illinois, where they lived with Chris’ son, Michael Collis. Robb was employed by Hilco Merchant Resources in Northern Illinois as an Accounts Payable Administrator.
Robb enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs, camping at Lake Arrowhead Campground on Lake Puckaway, and enthusiastically cheering on his favorite teams, the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Robb is survived by his stepson, Michael Collis of Kenosha; his mother, Sharon Evensen of Appleton, Wisconsin; his brothers, Paul (Mehdi Benbaba) Evensen of Paris, France, and Daniel (Valerie) Evensen of Appleton, Wisconsin; his sister, Ellen (Edward) Klug of Appleton, Wisconsin; his brother-in-law Stephen (Kerry Paulsen) Whetstone, his mother-in-law Charlotte Whetstone, and his father-in-law Thomas Stangle of Mt. Prospect, IL; his niece, Hannah (Jeffrey) Christensen; his nephew, Matthew (Haley Bishop) Evensen; his great-niece, Layla Evensen; and his great-nephew, Otto Christensen.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Evensen; his grandparents; and his beloved spouse, Chris.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 20, at 11:00 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church, 326 E. North Street, Appleton, WI 54911. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. A private burial will take place later at Welsh Cemetery, Berlin, Wisconsin.
