Arnold Evensen Obituary

Deerfield, WI - Arnold "Arnie" James Evensen passed away February 3, 2026, at Meriter hospital after a brief illness. Arnie was born July 29, 1947, at Madison General Hospital, to Arne and Lucille (Flynn) Evensen. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1965. After high school he attended MATC and then began working for the State of Wisconsin in various departments from 1966 through 2003.

Arnie has served on the Deerfield Village Board as a trustee and President for many years. Recently he served as the Vice President of the Deerfield Community Center.

Arnie is survived by his wife Diane, son Jeff, sister Sarah (Bill Gatz), niece Michelle Gatz (Kevin Hammer), and great-niece and nephews Mina, Thor, and Leif Hammer. He was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother Bernard (Bernie).

Arnie love fishing "up North" and in Canada, duck hunting on the Punsel pond and hunting deer wherever deer could be found, and most of all he loved, maybe worshiped, the PACKERS. GO PACK GO!!

At Arnie's request, private funeral services will be held for family later in the Spring. Nitardy Funeral Home of Cambridge is assisting the family.
