Roger O. Dalby, 83 and a lifetime resident of Deerfield, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer at St. Mary’s hospital in Madison.
Roger was the son of Stanley and Mildred (Schultz) Dalby. He worked for the State of Wisconsin, in the department of transportation, for 40 years.
He was a lifelong member of the Deerfield Rod and Gun club.
After retirement, Roger and Donna enjoyed many winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama; Once again, making numerous friendships. He also enjoyed camping in the summer with his grandchildren and other relatives.
Roger is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Shannon (Mike) Benzing of Post Falls, Idaho; son, Tim Dalby of Rio, Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews; nephew, Chad (Jeanne) Graffin with whom Roger enjoyed times at the family farm. He is further survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and four stepsons.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Mildred Dalby; dear friend and brother-in-law, Jim Graffin.
A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Deerfield Rod and Gun youth shooting sports in Roger’s memory.
