Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home on Mar. 19, 2025.
On March 17, 2025, Robert Wayne "Bo" Benfer, age 62, passed away at his home in Nowata, Oklahoma, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Bever, Oklahoma on August 9, 1962, to his mother, Mary Ruth Starns, and his father Everett Leroy Benfer Sr. Later in life, Robert and his family moved to Lenapah, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Lenapah High School. Robert went to work in the Oil Fields as an Oilfield Technician and a Roustabout. Robert married the love of his life, Julie Kay Benfer, on June 17, 2006.
In his leisure time, Bo loved to go hunting with his family and friends, including his best friend Richard Boone. Hunting was Bo's passion as he was right at home in the woods. Coming in at a close second was fishing. In the summer, he enjoyed spending time at Hulah Lake camping, fishing, and cooking huge meals for his family and friends. He always welcomed everyone to the party! In the winter Bo enjoyed spending weekends at the heated dock at Claremore Lake, teaching many of his family and friends how to fish with spoons. Bo loved life!!!
Bo is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Benfer and Everett Benfer Sr., brother Danny Benfer, nephew Rickey Benfer, great-nephew Remington Benfer, and best friend Richard Boone.
Bo is survived by his wife, Julie Benfer, his children Patrick Benfer and his wife Christy, Lacy Joslin, Ashley Hayes and her husband Tim, Christopher Van Natta and his wife Phebe, Zachary Van Natta and his wife Natasha, and Jeffery Van Natta. his siblings, Ricky Benfer, Everett Benfer Jr. and partner Laurie Hall, David Benfer, Rena Hicks and husband Tim, 12 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. And of course, we can't forget his best friend, Tater the dog.
