William P Punches

William "Bill" P. Punches, of Pawhuska, Oklahoma passed away at the age of 82 on Thursday,
October 30, 2025. He was born on June 18, 1943, in Shidler, Oklahoma, to William "Bill" Henry
Punches and Leota "Faye" Sears Punches. Bill was a 1961 graduate of Nowata High School.
After graduation, he attended OSU Okmulgee Tech. Upon graduation, he became a Linesman
and an Oilfield Electrician. He worked for various companies in the oil and gas business and
enjoyed his time working at Walmart after retiring from the oilfield.
Bill loved spending time taking care of his livestock, especially his bottle calves. He delighted in
showing his grandchildren all of his animals whenever they would come visit. Bill was always up
for a game of pool and would occasionally let his opponent win.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Miller; brother-in-law, Meryl Gray;
daughter-in-law, Jennifer Gilmore; nephews, Robert Punches and Rodney Punches; and three
unborn grandchildren. He is survived by a sister, Gladys Gray; brother, Bob Punches and wife
Janell; his sons, John Gilmore, James and Jessica Punches, and Troy Punches; and his
daughter Crystal and Scott Shelton; a dozen grandchildren, JT, Brooke, and Kathleen Gilmore,
Katie and Tim Gallop, Aubrey and Gavin Leeth, Emily Shelton, Kyler, Keagan, Kynlee, Karstyn,
Kollyns, and Kolton Punches; 4 great grandchildren; a special friend, Carol Davis; and
numerous other family and friends.
A graveside service will be Tuesday, November 4 at 10:00 am at The Nowata Cemetery in
Nowata, Oklahoma
