Robert Beran Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 2, 2026.
Robert "Bob" Joseph Beran passed away at his home in LaGrange on Super Bowl Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Dear brother of Richard Beran and Dolores (Joseph) McGowan. Beloved Uncly to Joseph (Sherry) McGowan, Daniel (Lisa) McGowan, and Mary McGowan. Uncle Robert to Jeanne (Tony) Martin. Uncle Bobby to Melissa Elmore. Also, many great nieces and nephews.

Bob enjoyed great times with family and friends, dining with his dear cousins, sipping Manhattans (with olives), and outlaw country music. Corny puns, clever t-shirts, and cheesy jokes were his trademarks. Bob was an avid reader, wordsmith, volunteer, racing fan, and Army Veteran. His "bloviating," quick whit, and generous spirit will be especially missed at family gatherings. Bob never missed an opportunity to show up for the ones he loved.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Helen Beran, his sister, Denise Radford, and his oldest niece, LuAnn Parker.

Burial at a family cemetery will be held privately at a warmer date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to BEDS Plus homeless shelter in LaGrange.

I'll miss our annual happy birthday phone calls in September. Bob always reminded me that he was the better looking guy! He also is the only person I know of who would be eating in one place, and taking about eating in another . I'll miss you cousin, I always looked up to you, and wanted to be as "cool" as you.
