Robert "Bob" Berens

KENOSHA - Robert A. Berens, 60, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2026.
Born on May 7, 1965, in Racine, Wisconsin, Bob lived a life defined by service, love, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
For 35 years, Bob proudly served as a firefighter with the South Shore Fire Department in Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin. He devoted his career to protecting others, embodying courage, strength, and compassion every single day. His commitment to serving his community was more than a profession - it was who he was.
Above all else, Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and stepfather. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Gail Berens (Ekern); his son, Justin Berens (Courtney Berens); his daughters, Emily Lueke (Gage Lueke) and Hailey Berens; and his stepson, Elijah Ambrose. He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Eden (9), Braelynn (8), Jaxon (4), and Tate Lueke (1), who brought him immeasurable joy.
He is also survived by his brothers, John Berens and Michael Berens (Jacquelyn Prokop Berens); and his sister, Kristine Berens; and goddaughter, Taylor Burdo; along with many extended family members and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John W. Berens and Joyce A. Berens.
He loved golfing, spending time outdoors, and making people laugh. Known for his humor, kindness, loving heart, and courageous spirit, Bob had a way of lighting up any room he entered. Nothing meant more to him than time spent with his grandchildren - whether sharing laughs, offering advice, or simply being present in their lives.
Bob will be remembered not only for his bravery as a firefighter, but for the warmth and laughter he brought into the lives of those who knew him. His legacy lives on in the family he adored, the community he served, and the countless lives he touched.
Funeral services for Robert will be held on Friday, February 20th at Grace Church, (3626 WI-31, Racine, WI 53405). Visitation will take place on Friday, February 20th from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Grace Church, with services beginning at 12:00 PM.
