Robert Bernier Obituary
He was the son of Rose (Seney) and Rudy Bernier.
He served 3 years in the Marine Corps. He also worked for his uncle, Paul Bernier, at Paul's Cash Market where he learned to be a butcher. He later worked at the A&P Stores and Mohegan Sun for 22 years, retiring January 2, 2018.
He leaves a son, Robbie and a good friend Debbie. He also leaves two brothers Rudy Bernier (deceased), wife Celia, Richard and wife Carol, one sister Ruth and husband Ron. He was also predeceased by a sister Helen Schapp. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, a special niece, Francis Hart.
There are no calling hours and burial is private at the wishes of Bob and family. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Dougherty Brothers Funeral Home.
He loved watching the New York Yankees and The New York Giants. He also enjoyed listening to and singing along with Elvis.
He also enjoyed sitting in his "old" truck enjoying sunning and helping his neighbors. He will be missed and very much loved.

I meant Bob at Church and we enjoyed talking and getting to know each other. He was so friendly and happy always. So sorry for your loss. Happy that I had the chance to meet Bob.

I´m
So sorry Bob passed away. I live in the same neighborhood as he did. We won´t be the same without him. His numerous daily walks and drives around the neighborhood made me feel safe. I always felt he was watching out for us! Additionally, he would help any of us with anything he could. Such a nice nice man. I´ll always remember his commitment to swimming every morning at the town hall pool! Seems one day he was walking, and swimming and greeting us with a smile. And the next, he was gone. All happened so fast. Condolences to his family and his friend Deb who were with him every day until he died. Cindy
