Robert Milton Bigham, Sr. passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024 in Waco. Celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Dr. Bruce Cox officiating. There will be a visitation with family and friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.
Robert was born July 10, 1961 to Billy Edward Bigham, Sr. and Mae Darlene (McCown) Bigham in Waco, Texas. He attended Waco schools and was in the Class of 1980 at University High School. He married Debbie Oplie on May 16, 1987 after being friends since they were 8 years old. Robert retired January 1, 2024 from Solar Supply, Inc. in Waco. He loved to go fishing, camping, and going up to Winstar. You could find him drinking Coke, with a shot of Crown Royal from time to time. He was happy, as long as Debbie was wherever he was.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his mom and dad-in-love, Charles and Doris Oplie, his brother, Billy Edward Bigham, Jr.; as well as several precious aunts and uncles.
Robert is survived by his wife, Debbie Bigham; daughter, Breanne Melendez and son-in-love Thomas; son, Bo Bigham; grandsons, T.J., Zander, Hayden, and Andrew Melendez; siblings, Tommy Joe Bigham, Sr. and sister-in-love Deanna, David Bigham, and Geneva Mansfield; sister-in-love, Sandra Bigham; and brother-in-love, Chuck Oplie; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and one aunt.
The family would like to thank niece, Caitlyn Bigham for doing CPR on him until the ambulance arrived, A special thank you to cousins, Cathy and Phil Medford for staying in Plano with us during his ordeal and John and Rhonda Boatman for their support. A shoutout to his special friends Randall, Guy, Kathy, Gerald, and Erasto for all their visits and phone calls.
