Robert L. Arnold, 95, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born in Syracuse, on October 28, 1928 to the late Cecil and Louise “Lewis” Arnold.

As a young boy, Bob lived in Canada, until moving back to the States. He met the love of his life, Frances Cook and married in 1950. After serving in the Korean War, he and his wife settled in North Syracuse, where they proudly raised their five boys. Bob and his father-built Kamp Bear, a hunting camp, in the Adirondacks in 1954. The family enjoyed spending much of their time there, where they developed long lasting friendships and many memories. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman, a member of the Bridgeport Rod and Gun Club and a lifetime NRA member. He took pride instilling his skills and marksmanship to his five boys and grandchildren. A skilled mechanic his entire life, he retired after many years from Sanford Fire Apparatus where he designed and built custom fire trucks. He enjoyed his retirement spending time with his family and friends, tinkering around the house, or sitting around a warm campfire with a cold beer.

He is survived by four sons, Mark (Barbara) Arnold, Larry (Susan) Arnold, Michael (Tina) Arnold, James (Beth) Arnold; ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded by his wife Frances, and his son Robert Arnold, Jr.
