Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home & Crematory - SalinaRobert "Bob" DeLaney Sr., 83 of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
Born on July 7, 1942 in Salina, Kansas, Bob was the son of Charles "Pat" DeLaney Sr. and Helen (McCarty) DeLaney of Tescott, Kansas.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy before beginning a 44-year career with the United States Postal Service, where he worked with dedication until his retirement in 2008. Known for his steady presence, reliability, and good humor, Bob was respected by coworkers and loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters, Lori Kirby and Jeana Opel, both of Salina; his son, Robert "Rob" DeLaney Jr. of Rolla, Missouri; his brother, Charles "Chuck" DeLaney Jr. (Donna) of Salina; his sisters, Carolyn Gibson (Glen) of Salina, Judy Noyes of Salina and Patti Durbin (Bob) of San Diego, California; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Nona.
In accordance with Bob's wishes, he was cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, January 10, 2026 at Emmanuel Church in Salina, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Postal Employees Relief Fund (PERF) which provides funding for current or retired postal employees who have lost their homes due to natural disasters.
