Robert “Bob” Lloyd Mason, II died peacefully in Bossier City, Louisiana on Thursday, March 13th, 2025, at the age of 80.
Bob is survived by Maria Mason, his wife of 59 years; his children, Corinna Mason Sanders (Steve) and Robert L. Mason, III (Marj); four grandsons, Austen, Alex, Kyler, and Kaeden and one great-granddaughter Melodie.
He was born in Kansas City, Kansas in 1944. After graduating high school, he joined the Army and served several tours in Germany where he met and married the love of his life Maria on December 23rd, 1965. After their time in the Army, they settled in Columbus, Georgia where Bob retired from federal service at Fort Benning.
He was always a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Braves fan. He and Maria discovered their shared love for cruising, traveling on countless Carnival ships, and exploring the world together for many years.
There will be a small family service held aboard a Carnival ship at a later date.
The family would like to thank the many dedicated medical professionals who have cared for Dad, particularly those at the Willis Knighton Hospital in Bossier City, Louisiana.
