Robert H. "Bob" Roberts Sr., 68, of Staunton passed away Thursday morning, October 26, 1989 at his residence.

He was born March 16, 1921 in Burnsville, a son of Roy C. and Elsie (Eagle) Roberts.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Virginia Power after 35 years of service. He was a member of Staunton Moose Lodge No. 1635.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Helen (Fitzgerald) Roberts; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Ann Hevener; two brothers, Kyle W. and Ilo R. Roberts; and a grandson, Homer Hevener Jr.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Linda Mae Robertson of Staunton; two sons, Robert H. Jr. and Mickey W. Roberts, both of Staunton; eight sisters, Mrs. Bertha Humphrey, Mrs. Robert Bennett, Mrs. Ray Carter, Mrs. Vivian Armstrong and Mrs. Sam Thorne, all of Staunton; Mrs. George Milstead of Longview, Tx and Mrs. Benny Clark of Millboro; three brothers, Waldo H., Edward L. and Jerald W. Roberts, all of Staunton; and five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Dennis Lohr. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Russell Masincup, Buddy Robinson, Wallace Armstrong, Ray Hays, Lacy Smith, Carl Hite an Edward T, Floyd.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
