ROBERT THOMA Obituary

ROBERT THOMA Robert "Bob" Thoma, 86, of Granite Falls passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Avera Granite Falls Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Granite Falls. Burial was in St. Clara Catholic Cemetery in Clara City. Robert William Thoma was born January 27, 1939, to Peter and Inez (Weiland) Thoma. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Clara Catholic Church. He attended St. Clara's parochial school in Clara City before graduating from Maynard High School. Bob met the love of his life, Sally, and the two were wed on September 17, 1966, at St. Clara Catholic Church. They spent 59 loving years together and were blessed with two sons, Mike and Jon. Bob worked as a welder for most of his life. He was part of the rescue squad in Granite Falls, Knights of Columbus, and the rodeo committee. Bob's biggest passion was being part of the Lions Club. He loved being involved with the group and the community, and he even served as governor for the District 3 Lions. Bob also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and working in his yard growing flowers. Bob is survived by his wife, Sally; sons, Mike (Cassie) and Jon (Heidi); grandchildren, Megan, Justin, Abby Thoma, Parker Yates; sister, Mary Thoma; sister-in-law, Donna Thoma; as well as nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter Sr. and Inez; siblings, Richard and Jim Thoma. Arrangements are with Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls.
