Robert Charles Waitkus
Robert C. Waitkus "Bob", 83, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away on August 4, 2025. He was born in Hartford, CT, on August 15, 1941, the son of Peter and Helen (Euskavech) Waitkus. He leaves behind a beloved wife of 62 years, Cynthia (Morel) Waitkus; a daughter, Kimberly (Waitkus) Griffin; a son, Scott Waitkus and wife, Terry Waitkus; three grandchildren, Zackery Waitkus and wife, Nora McClure, Dylan Waitkus and wife, Katie Waitkus and Cody Griffin and partner, Jhon Dominguez; and one great-granddaughter, Adelyn Mae Waitkus; along with his sidekick, Cooper, dog. He also leaves behind three brothers, Peter Waitkus, Donald Waitkus and Louise Smith, Richard and Rosalie Waitkus; and a sister, Carol and William Munro; along with 2 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in law, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was a proud Navy veteran, having served four years on a destroyer, the DD705. He retired as a Detective with the Connecticut State Police. He had belonged to the Connecticut State Police Alumni Association, The Tin Can Sailors Navy Association, the Elks Association and the Moose Association.
Above all, nothing and no one held a place nearer and dearer in Bob's heart than Cindi, his devoted wife and best friend. They shared an amazing life together, where they traveled all over the world, including going on over 50 cruises. After retirement in 1996, Bob and his wife moved to Southport Springs Golf and Country Club, located in Zephyrhills, FL, where they enjoyed the best years of their lives. They met many new friends that became family. He was an avid golfer and played in many different leagues. He also enjoyed watching golf during his downtime. Services will be held on August 18, 2025, at Coastal Cremation and Funeral Home, in Zephyrhills, FL, at 9:00am, with burial at Bushnell National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rucki Hospice Care Center, Zephyrhills, FL.

So many great memories, the clubhouse Happy Hour, usually stories, laughs! Dances, and of course a "few drinks". He had us laughing a lot because he had a great sense of humor, he was good at taking jokes aimed at him! He will be missed by HH group! God bless and help you Cindi thru the hard times!

Aunt Cindi, Kim, Scott and kids...
Uncle Bob was Aunt Cindi´s other half!
They were a united, always cheerful, happy front!
All of us cousins - even as adults - have been embraced by their joint bon vivant! And what a blessing that has been!
Aunt Cindi, you have to carry the torch now but never alone... Uncle Bob is grinning in your ear every minute, with a witty observation or a wisecrack remark that would make us all laugh...
Kim and Scott, you´ll always have your Dad. He´s with you every minute that you think of him, just like I think of mine. I hope that thought comforts you now.
We share your grief and are praying for peace and comfort through your grieving.
Sending much love,
Beth and Dave Garbo and kids
