Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory - Adel ChapelRobert (Bob) Walker passed away October 24, 2025 at home in Adel, Iowa. He was 79 years old. A funeral service will be held on November 13th at Lutheran Church of Hope at 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy, West Des Moines Iowa 50266. Visitation will be at 10:00, funeral service at 11:00 followed by a 12:00 luncheon.
Bob was born on August 22nd, 1946 in Rippey, Iowa to William and Vivian Walker. He attended Adel-Desoto High School graduating in 1964. After attending Northwest Missouri State University, he began working for Hy-Line and then for Pioneer Hy-bred International. Bob traveled the world establishing companies for Pioneer worldwide. He loved his job and the many people he met and worked with in other parts of the world. He had great respect for other cultures and religions, those who worked alongside him know this and many became his dear friends. Bob’s purpose in life was “Work hard to have a positive impact on as many people as possible”.
That purpose extended into his personal life as well. Family was very important to him. He always supported his children and grandchildren in every way possible. He loved his family so very much and was totally devoted to his wife, Sue.
Bob is survived by his wife Sue and their children: Ryan Walker (Jenny); Angela Mincy (Stuart); and Steven Luther (Jackie). 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vivian Walker and his brothers, James and John. He is survived by his sister, Mary Jane Alexander.
Special thanks to our dear friend Dr. Dale Grunewald, Pastor Jason Pool and the entire Suncrest hospice group for their outstanding care of Bob and our entire family. We are forever grateful.
