Robert Eugene Bode

Robert Eugene Bode, 87, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away 10:13 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2023, in Miller's Merry Manor. Robert was born on August 10, 1935 in Constantine, Michigan to Charles E. and Ina (Jones) Bode. He retired from the IBEW Local 153. On August 25, 1956 he married Eileen Claeys, who preceded him in death on December 4, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Danielle Bode. Robert is survived by his daughter, Debra (Steve) Paul of Mishawaka, Indiana; three sons Dennis (Becky) Bode of South Bend, Indiana, Don (Laurie) Bode of Franklin, Indiana and Dale (Cathy) Bode of New Carlisle, Indiana; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Matt) Smith, Staci (Alex) Pajakowski, Ashley (Ross) Signorino, Jeremy (Diane Milner) Bode, Anthony Bode, Amanda (Matt) Ellis; one step-grandson, Isaac Iconi; six great-grandchildren; his brother, Thomas E. (Barbara) Bode of Canton, Michigan; two nieces, Brooke and Erin; and three nephews, Brent, Bryce, and Dane. A Catholic Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2023 and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in the funeral home.
