Robert Lewis Bont

Robert Lewis Bont passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on Sunday, April 12, 1936, in Muskegon, Michigan, Robert lived a life full of adventure.

Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he developed a strong sense of duty and camaraderie that he carried with him throughout his life. After his military service, he became an independent contractor, a career that allowed him to utilize his skills and work ethic to support his family and community. Robert had a profound love for the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and found joy in spending time with his grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his beloved grandchildren: Shauna, Nick, Brandon, Mikey, Kristin, Kyle, Kerri, and Michelle. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Daiton Brenna, Hunter, Fisher, Madison, Addison, Derrick, Blake, Bryson, Jamison, Ethan, Katie, Leroy, Liam, Kyle Jr., Kolson, Kain, and Kyrin, and a great-great-grandfather to Aviyanna. He leaves behind his dear sister, Margaret, and sister-in-law, Bunny Bont. He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Isaac Bont, and daughter, Jean Marie Love/Miel, as well as his siblings, Donald, Lillian, and Henry.

In accordance with Robert's wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will not be a service at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crandell Funeral Home - Fremont Chapel.
