Robert J. "Bobby" Borges, age 72, of Concord, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Oct. 8, 2025 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH following an arduous battle with pancreatic cancer which he fought to the end.
He was born in Lowell, MA on September 18, 1953, son of the late Joseph & Rita (Lambert) Borges.
Prior to his retirement spent in Colorado with beloved friends and then in Concord NH near beloved family, he worked as a buyer and production planner in the manufacturing industry. His earlier work included cooking as a professional chef, working with adults with developmental disabilities, painting and remodeling homes, and security work with the Veteran's Administration in Massachusetts, CTV Defense Corporation in Arkansas and Texas, a power plant in Mississippi, and at G.E. in Massachusetts.
Bobby loved life! And he especially loved softball (his favorite pastime), gardening, cooking, dining (especially fried seafood!), camping and fishing. His claim to fame in his childhood years was his participation as a catcher in the Babe Ruth Baseball League in Lowell, MA where they won the championship. He was thrilled to have played on many softball leagues throughout his life (sometimes three leagues at one time!), playing his last game at age 71. He was an avid Boston Celtics and Red Sox fan. Bobby was also proud of his Portuguese heritage.
He was an endlessly caring husband and an extremely proud father. He absolutely adored his grandchildren - visiting weekly with treats and toys, playing, teaching them to fill the bird feeder and to plant and fertilize the garden. He was a devoted friend, brother, and son, and always did his best to care for those close to him - even strangers (though nobody was a stranger for long as he made friends everywhere!). He was known by all for being fun-loving, playful, friendly, warm and kind.
He is survived by his beloved son, Christopher J. Borges, of Cambridge, MA; his beloved daughter, Dr. Angela M. Borges and her husband Dr. Jeffrey L. Perrin, of Portsmouth NH, and their three lively children, Miles, Mabel Rose and Pearl Josephine; his love and life partner, Conny VonNordsiek; and a brother, Richard Borges, of Utica, NY. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joanne M. (Powers) Borges, and two sisters, Patricia and Linda Borges.
