Robert “Bob” Bowling, 67, of Compton Hills, IL entered eternal rest on October 20, 2024.
Bob was born in Dayton, Ohio to Elsie and Bill Bowling on February 17, 1957. Bob was one of four children and the only son. Bob always loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding horses. He graduated from Stivers High School in 1975. During his high school years, he worked at several restaurants.
After graduating, Bob moved from Ohio to Illinois. He worked at General Binding Corporation for a few years as a Plastic Extrusion Operator. In the early 1980s, he opened his own tree trimming/removal business, Shamokin Tree Care. Bob was a certified arborist. Bob and his crew were proficient and received many compliments for the work performed.
Bob was baptized into Christ on November 5, 1981. He attended the Church of Christ in Itaska, IL during the 1980s.
Bob owned a farm in Campbellsville, KY. He fished and hunted deer with family and friends. Recently he moved his dad’s trailer to the farm and was preparing it to be used by himself and family. He enjoyed his time at the farm. During his free time in IL, he would fish, hunt geese and he was a guide for pheasant hunts. Bob owned two horses which he enjoyed taking care of and riding. Bob was generous and he loved his family and friends. Bob will be missed.
Bob is preceded in death by his Parents, Bill Bowling and Elsie Stanfield; Sisters, Christl Mutter (James) and Sue Reddy.
Bob leaves behind his Son, Christopher Bowling; Grandchildren, Robert Bowling and Eve Bowling; Special family, Jenny and Vicent; Sister, Debbie Diaz (Javier); Brother-in-Law, Vik Reddy and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 12PM on Friday, November 1, 2024 in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home until the funeral hour at 1PM. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery in Bledsoe with Family and Friends serving as pallbearers.
