Robert Lee Boyett, Sr.

October 5, 1939 - October 31, 2025

Robert Lee Boyett, Sr., 86, of Kountze, died Friday, October 31, 2025. He was born on October 5, 1939, in Smackover, Arkansas, to Pauline Bates Boyett and Rudolph Carrol Boyett.

Robert joined the U.S. Navy the day after he graduated high school, where he served for 20 years until his retirement in 1977. He and his wife, Joyce, married after only a month of dating and were together for fifty-four years. Robert loved his family, radio club, and was very passionate about his hobbies such as gardening and reading. His granddaughter who took care of him lovingly jokes that he was stubborn up until the very end. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his children, Cindy Newland and her husband, Thomas, of Silsbee; Will Boyett and his wife, Angela, of Kountze; and Lynn Bellard of Kountze; daughter-in-law, Lynda Boyett of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Cody Newland and his wife, Victoria, of Colmesneil; Logan Newland and his wife, Meagan, of Silsbee; Cameron Newland and his fiancé, Mason Abernathy, of Las Vegas, Nevada; Terry Boyett of Kountze; and Katie Boyett of Kountze; great-grandchildren, Arleen Newland, Elaine Newland, and Hazel Newland; and siblings, David Boyett and his wife, Ann; and Troyce Boyett and his wife, Bonnie, all of Kountze.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Boyett; son, Bob Boyett, Jr.; and brother, Royce Boyett.

A gathering of Mr. Boyett's family and friends will be 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His interment will follow at Holland Cemetery, Kountze.
