Robert Boysen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crown Cremation Services - Portland on Nov. 29, 2025.
Bob Boysen, age 85, died on November 24, 2025 at his Portland residence, surrounded by family. He was born May 8, 1940, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the first of four sons of the late Leona and Robert Boysen.

Bob was raised in Iowa and Massachusetts, before graduating from the Coast Guard Academy and serving his country. He retired with the rank of Lt. Commander. He settled in Eugene, Oregon, with his wife Brenda (Borek), where they raised three children and enjoyed music, reading, gardening, and exploring Oregon. Bob was known for spending a lot of time in his greenhouse and sharing tomato plants with friends, family, and coworkers.

In 2022, Bob and Brenda resettled in Portland, Oregon, to be closer to family and enjoyed participating in activities at their senior community of Laurel Parc. Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Brenda; children Bret Boysen (Demi), Tammy Wilhoite (Charles), and Dawn Hunnicutt; grandchildren Marissa Jenkins (Jared), Shola Wilhoite, Hadley Wilhoite, Dorsey Wilhoite, Kayla Hunnicutt, and Brittany Hunnicutt; and great-grandchildren Brinsley Jenkins, Maverick Jenkins and Rose Boysen. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, William, and Thomas, and by his beloved grandson, Mitch Boysen.

A service will be held at Laurel Parc in January.
