Robert Brammer Obituary

Robert Dale (Bobby) Brammer, 64, of Forest, VA, passed away at his home surrounded by family on September 18, 2023. He is the son of the late James Howard Brammer and Frances Murray Brammer.

Bobby was an honest, humble, and hard-working man. He was born on January 2, 1959, in Lynchburg, VA. He graduated from Brookville High School and went to work for his father's company, Brammer Welding Supply. Bobby then started his own business, Forest Hill Service Center, in 1985. He was the owner and operator for 38 years. His customers valued his integrity and kindness.

Bobby had a passion for cars and racing. He raced motocross, go karts, and dirt cars. In his later years, Bobby's favorite pastime was taking his '06 Corvette to Virginia International Raceway (VIR) to log laps and fulfill his need for speed.

Bobby loved his family deeply. He was always concerned about the well-being of others and never hesitated to help family and friends. His grandchildren knew him as "Parps" and "Papa," and he was the do-it-all fix-it man. Whether it had a motor, required welding or power tools, Parps always seemed to have the answer.

Bobby is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 40 years, Tammy; son, Cory Brammer and wife, Ashley; daughter Carmen Wright and husband, Keith; grandbabies, Emma and Everett Brammer, and Rae Wright; brother Jerry Brammer and wife, Doris Ann; sister-in-law, Sue Brammer; father- and mother-in-law, Randy and Pat Childress; sister-in-law Vicky Delrue and husband, Joe; brother-in-law Brady Childress and wife, Cindy; brother-in-law Brent Childress and wife, Kim; brother-in-law Danny Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his oldest brother, James Howard (Jimmy) Brammer II; sister-in-law, Connie Wilson; and niece, Kelly Campbell.

A visitation service will be held at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg, VA on Friday, September 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Lynchburg Humane Society.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Bobby during the 25 plus years that I sold him parts. He always asked about my family in a way that you knew he truly cared and not as just polite conversation.
Your family has my deepest condolences on your loss

Bobby was one of the nicest, kingess men I've ever met. His shop worked on most of our cars & her helped us oncebwhen we needed it most. He always had a smile, a listening ear & I don't think he ever forgot a face. To say he will be missed is an understatement. Peace of spirit to Bobby & his family.

I will never forget the kind and helpful man that I trusted to take care of my care for 21 years. He was always there when I need him, with a smile. He always came out to from the office to say hi and chat
and we always laughed when he teased me with the Bonnie discount when he did my bill, when I did my yearly inspection. He will be sorely missed.
