Robert Brickle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Twiford Funeral Home - Outer Banks - Manteo on Mar. 18, 2026.
Robert Carson "Bobby" Brickle, a beloved native and lifetime resident of Nags Head, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at the age of 63, in Smithfield, North Carolina. Born on November 17, 1962, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

Bobby spent nearly three decades as a dedicated groundskeeper at Nags Head Golf Links. Growing up on the beach road at 15 1/2 Mile Post, Bobby's life was deeply intertwined with the ocean. From his early days helping his father pick fish from nets to his love for surfing and beach fishing, the ocean was a constant companion.

An avid fan of Tar Heel Basketball, Bobby also found joy in fishing off the beach and offshore with Capt. Hank on the 'True Grit,' accompanied by the girls. His enthusiasm for golf was well-known, and he celebrated multiple Holes in Ones throughout his life. Bobby was also known for his love for a good argument.

He was a graduate of Oak Ridge Military Academy. Bobby was a proud member of the Surf Fishing Team "Kellys Stiff Rods" for many years. He cherished his roles as the best uncle and brother, and his warmth and humor will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Gibson Brickle and Dorothy Bass Brickle.

He is survived by his brothers, David Brickle (Donna), and John Brickle, as well as his three nephews, Michael Brickle, Daniel Brickle, and Steven Brickle.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bobby's lifelong friends and his extended family in The Village at Nags Head.

A celebration of Bobby's life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather and honor the memory of a man who brought joy and laughter to so many.
