Robert Ronald Briggs, known lovingly as "Bob," was born on February 27, 1931, and passed away peacefully on November 4th, 2024, in Arlington, Texas. Bob lived a full and meaningful life, filled with love for his family, dedication to his work, and a strong faith.

Bob spent his career as a tool and die maker, a job he not only enjoyed but excelled at. His talent for designing tools and dies was admired by his peers. In his personal life, Bob was an avid traveler, with his favorite destinations being Hawaii and Alaska. Together with his beloved wife, Josephine, Bob traveled to all 50 states, and many countries, creating cherished memories along the way.

A devoted fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys, Bob could often be found enjoying a game on TV. He loved his family deeply and was always there to support and provide for them. Bob married the love of his life, Josephine, on April 10, 1954, and they spent a remarkable 70 years together. He met Josephine in New Jersey, and from that moment, their journey was one of love, partnership, and unwavering commitment.

Quiet by nature, Bob chose his words wisely, and when he spoke, it was with meaning and purpose. He never sought the spotlight but was always willing to lend a helping hand. His presence brought comfort and stability to those around him, especially his family.

In recent years, Bob and Josephine enjoyed exercising together at the pool, an activity they treasured. Bob’s faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he and Josephine found joy in attending church together. He was known for his kindness and patience as a dad and a mentor to those he worked with. Ever diligent, Bob was the rock of his family.

Bob is preceded in death by his son, Keith Briggs; his brothers, James Briggs and Clarence Briggs; and his sister, Mildred Staneck. He is survived by his devoted wife, Josephine, his children, Richard Briggs and wife Angie, Pam Rodgers and husband Kenny, and Denise McKinney and husband Mike. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kenner Rodgers, III and wife Kathy, Matthew Rodgers and wife Megan, Sessily Minton and husband Brad, Jessica Sontag and husband Julian, Alex Briggs and fiancé Alexia, and Ashley Stroud and husband Lovell. Bob was a proud great-grandfather to ten great-grandchildren.

In honor of Bob’s life and his generous spirit, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at St. Jude’s Donation or your favorite charity.

Bob will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
