Robert Lee “Bobby” Brooks age, 86, of Hays, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Society of Hays.
He was born March 9, 1940, in Chanute, Kansas to Marquerite Hunter. His mother died during childbirth. Bobby and his older brother lived with grandparents until the age of five, then he moved to Winfield, Kansas where he attended kindergarten.
When he was 18 years old, he moved to Parson, Kansas for a few years then moved back to Winfield. In 1975, when he was 35 years old, he moved to Hays and was a part of the DSNWK day services supported employment. He assisted in laundry, food services and janitorial maintenance. He enjoyed the group outings, bowling, watching TV, bicycling, and shopping.
Bobby had a battle with colon cancer and had surgery in 2011. He moved to the Good Samaritan Society of Hays and has been a resident since 2021.
Bobby is survived by his DSNWK family and Staff.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays with Reverend Troy Miller officiating. Graveside Services and inurnment will be in Mount Allen Cemetery, Hays, Kanas.
A visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays,
