A native of Mobile, Alabama, Robert Brown departed this life peacefully on May 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. As he transitioned from this earthly life, he was comforted by the presence of those dearest to him and the unwavering promise of reuniting with his Heavenly Father.
Born on January 31, 1959, Robert touched the lives of many with his strength, resilience, sense of humor, and steadfast faith. Even as he faced the trials of illness, he remained a source of hope and inspiration. He constantly reminded those around him of God's love, mercy, and forgiveness-always encouraging gratitude and praise, no matter the circumstance.
Robert's life was marked by selflessness and generosity, especially towards his family. He leaves behind an enduring legacy of love, having left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Robert was a true fighter, he believed in pressing forward until the very end.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Greater Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C.H. Peterson. He later continued his spiritual walk at Word of Life Community Church under the leadership of Dr. Henry W. Roberts II and, finally Mount Hebron Church Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Joseph F. Johnson until his passing.
He graduated from Toulminville High School in 1977 and went on to earn an associate degree in Welding from Carver State Technical College in April 1979. Later that year, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. Sgt. Robert Brown honorably served his country, deployed to Desert Shield/Storm War in 1991, and completed his military service in 1996. After his time in the Army, he continued his commitment to public service with the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System (MAWSS), where he worked until his retirement in August 2021.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Willie McKenzie Brown, Maternal and Paternal Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mary Brown; Two sons: Shawn (Ednalyn) Bailey of San Francisco, CA, and Curtis (Felecia) Spencer of Mobile, AL. Three daughters: Suzanne Bailey of Mobile, AL, Valerie (Kizzy) Spencer of Huntsville, AL, and Antionette "Toni" Dickerson of Austell, GA; His mother, Lena Brown and his biological father, Alvin Jones; Three sisters: Sonya (Wayne), Deidra (Willie) Jones, and a devoted sister, Patricia Brown (Larry) Jackson; One brother Fernando Brown, Mobile AL; One devoted niece: Asia (Terrance) Huggins; Three close friends: Karlos McCants, Elijah Peters, and Carl Finklea. He also leaves behind a host of loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law, and many other cherished relatives and friends.
Robert's love, faith, and strength will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His life was a testimony of perseverance, faith, and deep devotion to family and God.

Condolences to the family during this sad time. It is with great sadness to hear of the loss of my coworker and Rattler Nation friend. Robert was always so kind and respectful. He was always willing to give a word about God's goodness, and He will truly be missed.
Our prayers are that God will keep and strengthen his family.

Sincerely,
