Robert L. Brown

Robert L. Brown, 82, of Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025. Robert was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Mary Ann Brown, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage until her passing on January 11, 2014. Together, they built a life centered around love and family.
Born on January 25, 1943, in Gibraltar, Pennsylvania, Robert was the son of Clarence D. Brown Sr. and Marcella A. (Hoffman) Swisher. He spent his life rooted in the community where he was born and raised, building a legacy of dedication to family and hard work.
Professionally, Robert worked for many years at Gudebrod in Pottstown. His commitment to his work reflected the same steadfastness he brought to every aspect of his life. Family truly meant everything to Robert. He cherished time spent with loved ones and found his greatest happiness in their company. Whether gathered for holidays or everyday moments, he treasured each opportunity to be surrounded by those closest to him.
He was a loving father to his son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Kim Brown, as well as to his daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Dale DePriest. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, as his grandchildren, Brianna DePriest, Brandon DePriest, and Bryce DePriest, were the pride of his life. He is also remembered by his siblings, Barbara Mishler, Nelson Brown, and LeRoy Brown.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Ruth O'Mara, Dolores Mohn, Clarence Brown Jr., June Pleis, Dennis Brown, and George Brown.
Robert's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his legacy of love and devotion bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
A viewing will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Saint John's UCC Cemetery in Gibraltar.
