Robert Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home on Dec. 24, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert G. "Bob" Brown, beloved brother, friend, and mentor, who left us peacefully on December 22, 2025, in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Bob was born on July 22, 1962, in Newton, MA, to Ronald J. Brown and Marjorie A. (King) Brown, who both preceded him in death along with his sister, Sandra Brown.

Bob was a graduate of Framingham North High School and later served in the Army Reserve, dedicating several years to his country. After his military service, he built a career as a parts manager at various Volkswagen dealerships in the area where he was known for his expertise and commitment to excellent service. After many fulfilling years, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

Beyond his professional life, Bob was a man of many passions. He was an active member of the Candlepin Bowling Association of New England, where he shared his love for the sport with others. As a children's bowling instructor and coach, he had a profound influence on many young bowlers, helping to foster their skills and love for the game. His contributions to the bowling community were not merely measured by scores, but by the lives he touched and the confidence he instilled in those he coached.

Bob was known for his sharp sense of humor and his sarcastic wit, which endeared him to many. His ability to see the lighter side of life made him a cherished friend and companion. He is survived by two loving sisters: Susan A. Brown of Danville, Virginia, and Cathy M. LaChance, of Shrewsbury, who graciously shared her home with him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Candlepins for Cancer (https://www.candlepins4cancer.com/) in Bob's memory. His legacy will continue through the countless lives he impacted, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Friends, family, and all those whose lives were touched by Bob are invited to gather on Saturday, December 27, 2025, for a calling hour from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St, Shrewsbury. His family will be planning a Celebration of Life for a later date.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bob's passing. I live down the street and my dog Wyatt and myself always enjoyed talking to Bob when he took Diesel and Scarlett for their walks. Bob will be missed, may his memory be a blessing.

I am so very sorry to hear about Bob. He was a wonderful, kind man. His dedication to the younger generation bowlers was a testament to his character. May you fly with the angels, Bob.... because you were an angle on earth.
